President Bola Tinubu has been re-elected as the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

This comes after he stepped down today during the the regional bloc’s summit and also about one year after he took over the leadership.

Tinubu hosted the ECOWAS heads for the 65th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Channels TV confirmed that the Nigerian leader who rose to power in May 2023 was reelected as the ECOWAS chairman during the meeting.
