JUST IN ! ‘We Will Move Online’ – Dowen College Tells Parents

The management of Dowen College, Lekki has told parents that the academic session will now go online after the Lagos State Ministry of Education ordered the indefinite closure of the school.

Government ordered the closure to enable them carry out a thorough investigation into the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr who was allegedly tortured by fellow students for refusing to be initiated into a cult gang.

The school had initially sent students home advising them to stay away for 2 days. The advised them to return next week for exams.

The move by the school caused public outrage as many demanded why business should continue when they have a death that is yet to be explained.

This evening, Dowen College management allegedly sent another message to parents and students following the order by the state Ministry of Education that the premises be shut down indefinitely.

The mail advised parents that classes will now move online.

We wish to inform you that further to our meeting at the ministry of education, the school will be shutting down all physical activities until further notice.

All learning will move online in the interest of of safety and transparency.
