The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Thursday, revealed that he met with some of colleagues regarding the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since the end of the presidential primary election.
Ortom, revealed that he met with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and other party stalwarts over the differences in the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He said that the aggrieved governors have decided to remain in the main opposition party.
It is however, obvious that Governor Wike is not pleased with the decision of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to pick the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.
This is more so as the committee set up by the party to choose a running mate had unanimously settled for him.
Ortom, who condemned Atiku for ignoring Wike, said he and his aggrieved colleagues have agreed to remain in the PDP.
He, however, called on Atiku to reach out to Governor Wike for reconciliation.
The Benue State Governor reiterated that Wike is a big factor who remained in PDP when he and Atiku left the party for the All Progressives Congress.
The Benue State Governor stated that it is not too late to resolve the crisis in the PDP.
Ortom added that once Wike is pacified, he is also pacified and that his colleagues and himself agreed that Governor Wike needs to be pacified.
