Yusuf Buhari, son of Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is set to wed the Daughter of the Emir of Bichi, Zahra Nasir Bayero.
Zahra who shares the same first name as the President’s first daughter, is also a niece to the current Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero.
She is a an undergraduate student of Architecture in the UK while Yusuf is a 2016 graduate of Surrey, Guildford, also in the UK.
Reports say that the wedding would take place in the next 2 months. “Preparations are at top gear for the grand event. As the tradition provides, the parents of the groom have met with the parents of the bride to express Yusuf’s interest in marrying Zahra,” a source which pleads anonymity reports.
The source said that the wedding would have taken place earlier but for the absence of the groom’s mother, Aisha Buhari who was on a 6-month medical trip to Dubai.
“Now that his mother returned a few weeks to Ramadan, it is clear the wedding will take place after Sallah holidays.”
Yusuf was involved in a near fatal motorbike accident around Gwarimpa, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on the 27th of December, 2017.
He was flown abroad for medical treatment after being stabilised for 1 month at an Abuja hospital.
He returned to Nigeria on the 1st of March, 2018 and has barely been seen in public ever since.
