Kaduna Community Saved from Another Explosive

Residents of another Kaduna community have escaped another explosive on Friday.

The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was discovered by residents of Shanono in Shanono Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This comes barely 24 hours after one other was found concealed in a bucket on Thursday. It was immediately deactivated by the state anti-bomb squad.

A resident of Shanono identified as Tijjani Umar told Daily Trust noted that children in the community discovered the explosive in a jerrycan covered with black nylon.

He added it was placed very close to a stream in the community.

It was kept in the same spot where the Thursday IED was discovered. We don’t know what is happening in this community. It was my elder’s brother wife that rushed to inform me that the children found another bomb inside Jerrycan,” he said.

The development was confirmed by the spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige who said that the anti-bomb squad have been deployed to the area.

Jalige added that, “The area has been cordoned off to protect the people from getting hurt while our men are there to defuse the device.”
