The Government Science Secondary School Boys, Kankara have narrated their ordeal in the hands of their captors.
The boys who were released last night arrived Katsina last night, 18th December from Zamfara where they were held for nearly 7 days.
They were received on arrival in Katsina by the State Governor, Bello Masari, senior military and government officials.
Speaking with Channels TV, one of the boys, Adamu, said it was a horrible experience.
According to him, “we suffered in the bush. In fact we were hungry in the bush. They usually give us cassava to eat. I am not feeling fine. I am sick.”
Another student, Abubakar Salisu said that “at the time we were there, the place was very cold and the food we were taking was just bread and groundnut cake and cassava.
“The place we were sleeping is the same place we were defecating. In the night, if you say you want to go and urinate or defecate, they will beat you an ask you to go back and sleep.”
He added that that the ordeal will make everyone of them think twice before going back to school.
According to him, “nobody among us is thinking of going back to school unless forces are there to guide us and control us. I doubt if anyone of us will like to go back.
“The school is far away from town and that is why when they came, before the police and army could come to school, they had gathered us and packed us into the forest.”
Abubakar added that “it is only in terms of security that we have problems at the school.
If the security can be reinforced, they will return to the classrooms.
