Kano First Lady, Hafsat Ganduje Released from EFCC Custody

The First Lady of Kano State, Hafsat Ganduje has been released from the custody of the (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC).

Reports say that she was compelled to report herself to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Sunday for her alleged involvement in land fraud.

She had, in September ignored the invitation by the anti-graft agency after she was petitioned by her first son, Abdulazeez Ganduje.

Abdulazeez had been paid for many hectares of land by a property developer t help him use the influence of his family to perfect the purchase.

The governor’s first son gave the money to his mother but reports she neither assisted secure the property no was was willing to return the money.

Instead of turning herself in to the EFCC, Hafsat travelled to the United Kingdom to attend her other son’s graduation ceremony.

The First Lady was grilled over alleged illegal hijacking of of hectares of running running into billions of Naira but was granted administrative bail with the influence of her husband, the governor of Kano State.

Governor Ganduje who accompanied his wife to the EFCC headquarters is said to have helped secure her release.

He returned with her on Tuesday through the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano
