Kidnapped 7-month-old Baby Found and Rescued in Another City

A 7-month-old baby, Abdul Fatai Edu, who was kidnapped from Epe, Lagos, has been found and rescued.

Chaos erupted in Epe on Friday when Abdul Fatai was abducted by a neighbor, Jimoh Barakat Tolani.

Tolani had persuaded the infant’s mother, Mistura Edu, to allow her to take the child to Ayetoro Market, promising a quick return.

However, Tolani failed to return, and hours turned into a full day with no sign of either Tolani or the baby.

The situation worsened when Mistura Edu sought police assistance and was reportedly detained under the suspicion of orchestrating the abduction.

The report however, brought the situation to the attention of the public who advocated immediate action and provided critical information that led to locating Abdul Fatai.

Mrs. Funke Moore, a former GM of LTV 8, confirmed an online media’s influence in resolving the case, stating: “Good morning sir. Thanks so much for doing the story on the abducted baby. The baby has been located in Oshogbo.

Someone called the number featured in the story last night, and the mother’s family traveled to Oshogbo to locate the baby. On getting there, they found out the baby had been taken to Iseyin. They are on their way to Iseyin now to bring back the baby. Thanks so much sir for your help. 🙏”

In a video message sent to the online media house, a member of the Edu family expressed heartfelt gratitude for the newspaper’s effective reporting, which was key in ensuring Abdul Fatai’s safe return.

“We are extremely thankful for EKO HOT BLOG’s swift and detailed coverage. Your report was instrumental in tracking down our baby. Without your help, we might not have found Abdul Fatai as quickly,” the family member said.
