News - Women's Perspective

One of the Chibok school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014 has surrendered to the Nigerian troops with her terrorist commander husband.

The girl whose identity has not yet been disclosed is said to be one of the over 200 Government Secondary School (GSS), Chibok, Borno State girls abducted from their hostel while preparing for their exams.

The teenage girl was married off to the terrorist during their time with their captors.

PR Nigeria reports that she and her ISWAP/Boko Haram terrorist husband surrendered willingly to the Nigerian army.

A source is quoted as saying that they surrendered at a yet to be disclosed location within the Lake Chad region.

According to the source, “The terrorists resolve to surrender may not be unconnected with the destruction of their enclaves and camps by the Nigerian military airstrikes and ground bombardment; and the outbreak of killer diseases together with food scarcity which have badly hit the terrorists.

“In fact, there are many ISWAP and Boko Haram members that are willing to surrender as soon as possible but the military and other security services will ensure the needful is done for national security.”
