Kidnappers of 3 Kogi children Demand Humongous Ransom

The 3 children kidnapped in Ajaokuta Local Government area of Kogi State will likely not be released anytime soon as their abductors have demanded the humongous ransom of N100 million.

The three children who were abducted on Wednesday evening at their residence in Kaduna Estate Ajaokuta Steel Township complex.

The heavily armed kidnappers shot sporadically to scare residents away before they abducted the children.

Speaking on conditions of anonymity, a member of the family told Channels television that the gunmen on Thursday morning contacted the family and demanded N100m as ransom.

The State Police Command Spokesman, William Ayah, has confirmed the kidnap in a statement released on Friday.

He said the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ebuka, has deployed operatives of various police anti-kidnapping units in collaboration with local security officers to trail the kidnappers in order to rescue the children and bring the perpetrators to book.

The incident is coming days after gunmen killed three policemen and five vigilantes at Jida-Bassa also in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state.
