Kiki: “That’s because we all won something. Many women in Nigeria, Ghana and the rest of Africa have experienced #SexForGrades primarily and secondarily and the more we talk about it, the higher our chances of ending it.

“It’s for you, for your sisters, for your daughters.”

A revolution:

The sex for grades investigative project brought on a cultural revolution regarding the emotional torture that Lecturers subject female students to in African universities.

The often silenced blackmail of the lecturers stirred up a lot of the rot that goes on in the ivory towers. It got victims, current and past, speaking up and in some cases resulting in strong penalties for the culprits.

Sex for grades has earned both BBC and Kiki Mordi countless awards and nominations. Other countries in the current affairs category for the 2020 Emmy Awards include Brazil, Sweden and the UK.
