Labour Party Reacts to Emergence of Factional Presidential Candidate (video)

A fast-rising political party, the Labour Party (LP) has reacted to the emergence of a factional presidential candidate after the election of Peter Obi.

The Chairman of Peter Obi faction of the party, Julius Abure spoke about the emergence of the candidate of the faction led by Callistus Okafor.

There were earlier reports that a faction of the LP led by Okafor announced on Tuesday, June 7, that ambassador Jude Ezenwafor was now the presidential candidate of the party ahead of the 2023 election.

Speaking with Arise News, Abure said that there was nothing to worry about. He insisted that the chairman of the new faction was only seeking relevance and that the case is already in court.

The Chairman of Peter Obi faction further revealed that the man in question, Callistus Okafor was the deputy chairman of the party who was suspended in 2014.

He noted that national conventions have been held since his suspension. Abure said that Callistus Okafor is one of those people who love to seek attention and he is doing so just because of the the emergence of Peter Obi.

He stated that that the party’s lawyers will handle him appropriately
