The elevator accident that claimed the life of a young medical doctor at the Lagos State General Hospital, Lagos Island has been attributed to a spiritual attack by the First Lady of the state.
Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the wife of the Lagos state governor said this in reaction to the death of the medical doctor identified as Dr. Vwaere Diaso.
According to the First Lady, “an arrow has been fired into the health family”.
On Tuesday, Diaso d!ed after an elevator at the General Hospital, Lagos Island, which she was in, fell from the 10th floor.
Her tragic d3ath has continued to attract condemnation on social media platforms, with many Nigerians accusing the hospital’s management of negligence.
The elevator was said to have had faults which staff frequently complained about to no avail.
“A doctor who had just 2 weeks to complete her housemanship just died in general hospital (Odan, Lagos island) due to poor management and negligence. The elevator she was in, fell from 10th floor to the ground! Video was so painful to watch,” a Twitter user wrote.
However, on Wednesday, the governor’s wife, while addressing the media, implied that the incident was caused by a “spiritual attack” against the health sector.
In a now-viral video, Ibijoke also linked the incident to the jet accident that occurred in the state on Tuesday while seeking answers from the crowd.
“An arrow has been fired into the health family. First of August is a day I will never forget,” she said.
“The same day a helicopter crashed, the same day a lift dropped down. How? How? How?”
