The Lagos State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) under the leadership of Pastor Dayo Ekong has affirmed that the only legally recognised leadership of the party in the state is the one led by herself.
The cleric also aligned herself with the national leadership which has Barrister Julius Abure as the LP National Chairman.
According to her, Abure is the authentic national chairman of the party and the recognized State Secretariat of the LP in Lagos State is located at 59 Oduduwa Way G.R.A Ikeja Lagos.
Speaking on Tuesday at the end of the party’s State Executive Council meeting, Ekong urged members of the public to disregard a group led by one Mr Olumide Adesoyin parading themselves as the LP leaders in Lagos.
According to her, Adesoyin has been suspended from the party over alleged anti-party activities in the build up to the 2023 elections.
She said: ““It has come to our knowledge that some group of impostors have been going around town parading themselves as the leadership of Labour Party in Lagos State.
“This group is led by one Mr Olumide Adesoyin, who to the best of our knowledge, still remains a suspended member of the party.
“Adesoyin was suspended on March 20 over alleged anti-party activities during the presidential and gubernatorial elections held on Feb. 25 and March 18 respectively
