Another Lagosian, A lawyer identified as Omobolanle Raheem, was shot dead on Sunday by another police officer based at Ajiwe station in Ajah.
This comes days after an innocent bystander, Gafaru Buraimoh was shot and killed within the same axis by a trigger-happy police officer during a raid of black market fuel sellers..
31-year-old Gafaru Buraimoh was killed on the 6th of December, on his way from a shopping mall.
Omobolanle Raheem, a Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) member was killed by an Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP).
The incident occurred near Ajah bridge on Christmas Day as the deceased was on her way from church.
Bolanle was reportedly shot while she sat in the car; the husband was beside her.
Several of her colleagues have raised an alarm on social media about her tragic passing.
Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin reacted to the fatal shooting on Monday.
The spokesman described the officer’s action as “unfortunate and avoidable”.
“The ASP that shot and two others with him have since been taken into custody. They are to be moved to the SCID for further investigation”, he tweeted.
The Ajiwe police post located in the Ajah axis of Lagos has come to be notorious for rights abuses and overzealous personnel.
