The ruling house of Lagos has requested for the cleansing of the palace of the Oba of Lagos desecrated by rampaging hoodlums.
Hoodlums stormed the Oba’s palace in the wake of protests that greeted the shooting of innocent #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos.
The ruling house described the invasion of the palace and the stealing of the staff of office of the royal monarch as a sacrilege.
According to them, they were awed when they watched the thugs “forcefully entering, ransacking, looting and desecrating the Isa Idunganran (Oba Ado Palace) which is the palace of the Oba of Lagos.”
The royals added that, “Painfully, the desecration of Oba’s Palace, in particular, the stole ‘OAP Ase’ and our ancestral items with impunity has not only exasperated the tense atmosphere but also shows lack of respect for Lagos traditional heritages.
The statement captioned “#EndSARS protest: Akinsemonyin ruling house condemn attacks on the Oba’s palace was signed by the Olori Ebi Akinsemonyin, Prince Abaham Adekunle and the Chairman of Egbe Omo Eko Nimi Lagos Forum – Prince Ademola Akinsemonyin.
