A visit round Lagos shopping Malls shows that they are now fully back in operation.
Novare Mall, Circle Mall, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Palms, Ikeja City Mall and SPAR supermarket in Lekki shows that business have fully resumed today, 4th June.
According to the mall managers interviewed, business is back to normal for all stalls except for, children fun centres, hair dressing salons, cinema houses still remain closed until further notice.
The managers spoken to confirm that work hours are now to commence from 7:00am to 9:00pm daily. This is unlike the past 2 and a half months when shopping hours were strictly 10:00am to 2:00pm. However, strict health safety measures continue to be observed.
Customers entering the shopping malls are denied entrance if they are not wearing face masks. Those with obvious symptoms of illness were also turned back while the entrance security insist that shoppers take sprouts of sanitisers in their palms before entering the stalls.
Lagos Shopping Malls have had skeletal services since the outbreak of the #COVID19 disease in February this year. This is as a result of the panic and uncertainties that greeted the novel infectious and deadly disease that has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people the world over.
The Western countries have been the worst hit. Unfortunately, no reliable cure or vaccine has been found for the disease while enormous resources have been deployed towards finding a solution.
Most of the people who survive are managed largely with common cold medications.
Novare Mall in the Sangotedo area of Lagos has witnessed sports enthusiasts who throng the car park in their hundreds between 7:00am and 9:00am daily for the last 1 year.
The routine was also suspended because of the covid19 pandemic. Despite the shopping mall fully resuming, the aerobics sessions remain suspended until further notice.
