Lagos State 2nd April 2020 covid-19 update shows that 11 patients have fully recovered from the deadly covid-19 decease in Lagos.

The Governor is overly excited about the development and took to his social media handles to address the state.

According the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, 2 females and 9 males were discharged today  having tested negative, weeks after testing positive to the disease.

Also in a series of tweets, the governor thanked the health workers for their dedication and expertise in handling all the patients.

He noted that community transmission is on the increase and advised that social distancing is the only way to curb new infections.

The governor also posted a video of some of the patients in an Isolation centre who have undertaken to join in the campaign on social distancing.

Sanwo-Olu said they created the video to “show that covid-19 is not a death sentence but must be taken seriously.”

The Lagos State 2nd April 2020 covid-19 update also indicates that patients in quarantine comprise foreign and local citizens. This comes as some foreign nations already evacuated their citizens.

“I am happy to break to you, my good people of Lagos, the news of the release today of 11 more patients from our facility in Yaba. They have fully recovered and have tested negative to #COVID19 and have been allowed to return home to their families.

“The patients include two females and nine males. Their results came out negative in two rounds of tests. I want to use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers and other professionals for their service.

“Let me reiterate that this is not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance because of the community infection that we are beginning to see. I assure you that at the end, we will hoist a flag of victory – with your cooperation and by the grace of the Almighty.
