Lagos State Gets New Police Commissioner

The Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba has appointed Abiodun Alabi as the new Commissioner of Police in Lagos State.

Former Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, Alabi takes over from Hakeem Odumosu with effect from January 24, 2022.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, the new Commissioner is due for retirement on the 31sr of December, 2024.

Abiodun Alabi’s appointment follows the promotion of his predecessor, Odumosu to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) of Police in December 2021.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) had approved the promotion of Odumosu and 5 others to the rank of AIG.

The development is included in a statement made available to newsmen by the PSC spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani.
