The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has announced that all occupants trapped in the SUV that was swept away by flood in the Oko Oba area of Lagos State, on Saturday, July 8th, were rescued and are in safe condition.
This comes after it was reported by various media platforms that all the occupants trapped in the white SUV died in the flood despite the efforts by the residents of the area to save them.
Reacting to the development, the director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue service, Margaret Adeseye, in a statement on Twitter, debunked the information.

Adeseye said that the damaged vehicle was recovered and all the three male occupants are in safe condition.
Her tweet reads; “The public should be informed that the accura car eventually got trapped by 08:09hrs Saturday at Oyatoki Canal by Shoretire Street, Oko Oba-Agege, Lagos.
“However, it was rescued by the Agege Fire Crew of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service with all three adults male occupants in safe conditions.”
