A piece of land on the moon is a Pakistani groom’s wedding gift to his new bride.
The world was left in shock when the groom identified as Sohaib Ahmed, a resident of Rawalpindi bought the moon land in the region identified as “Sea of Vapour” for $45 from the international Lunar Lands Registry.
The new couple were sent the documents to the new property via the US Postal Service.
News monitored on the Lunar Settlement Initiative’s website says that “under the terms of the LSI, property claims on Luna may be offered to private entities to finance the exploration, settlement and development of the moon and its resources.”
LSI further stated that “upon recognition and certification of land claims, property owners shall be entitled to inhabit and develop their property in any manner, subject to any laws or statutes that may be established by the sovereign and independent government of Luna which shall be freely elected by its citizens.“
According to the groom, Sohaib Ahmed, he was inspired by late Bollywood actor Sunshant Singh Rajput.
Rajput is reported to have bought his own moon land in the region of Mare Muscoviense also known as “Sea of Muscovy” through the international Lunar Lands Registry.
Speaking to Samaa TV, Sohaib’s bride, Mariah said that her friends did not believe her when she told them about the unusual gift from her husband.
According to her “at first, everyone thought it was a joke, but then I showed them the documents and then they believed it.”
The unusual gift has stirred up problems for other grooms as their fiancees also want same kind of wedding gift.
