Late Alaafin of Oyo Loses Wife, Kafayat Months after His Passing

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the late Alaafin of Oyo has lost one of his wives, Olori Kafayat Adeyemi barely 3 months after his passing.

Reports say that Olori Kafayat, the mother of Prince Adebayo Adeyemi, popularly known as D’Guv, died on Friday night, July 1, in US.

Bode Durojaye, Director of Media and Publicity at the late monarch’s palace, confirmed her death to Punch on Saturday morning.

Durojaye said, “She died in the United States of America. I will give you the details later.”

Oba Adeyemi died on Friday, April 22 at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, after a brief illness at the age of 83.



Oyo kingdom has not yet crowned another Oba since the death of Oba Adeyemi.
