Late Sylvester Oromoni’s Family Hit By Yet Another Tragedy

Still trying to come to terms with the tragic d3ath in 2021 of 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni Jr, the family is again faced with a new tragedy as Mrs. Rosemary Sylvester Oromoni, the boy’s mother, passes away.  

Family sources who confirmed her death on Monday, November 25, 2024, said it was due to complications related to the grief and trauma she endured following her son’s untimely demise.

Sylvester Oromoni Jr, a Dowen College student, was allegedly bullied by senior students, a situation that attracted an outcry both within and outside Nigeria and a public demand for justice.

Mrs. Oromoni, deeply affected by the loss, struggled with her health over the years, showing visible signs of emotional and physical deterioration. Her grief was described as relentless, impacting her ability to eat, sleep, or resume her daily life.

The devastating blow to the family has once again ignited public discussions about the systemic failings that contributed to Sylvester’s death.

Tributes have poured in, with many sympathizing with the family’s pain and calling for renewed efforts to ensure accountability.  

Mrs. Oromoni’s passing is a stark reminder of the enduring impacts of unresolved grief and the need for justice to bring closure to families facing such tragedies.

The Oromoni family, now mourning two irreplaceable losses, continues their pursuit of justice, with mother and son becoming symbols of a community’s plea for change.

Kemi Olunloyo, now Kemi Lawrence alleged and maintains that the young boy was complicit in the events leading to his tragic passing.
