A student of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, Nnenna Amadi, has died in the school’s medical facility.
She is said to have passed away due to alleged lack of medical equipment and negligence from the medical center.
Reports also say that the deceased had a severe asthma attack on Thursday, August 11, and was rushed to the school’s medical facility.
Sources allege the law school’s clinic has only one nurse and no doctor.
Instead of giving Nnenna oxygen she was given an injection because they did not have oxygen.
Sources claimed she kept saying: “I can’t breathe!” before she died.
She was later rushed to another hospital where she was confirmed dead on arrival.
Another source however confirmed to TheNigeriaLawyer that attempts were made by the medical center at the law school to adequately handle the situation, albeit to no avail.
In a report sighted in The Nigera Lawyer, attempts to confirm the exact cause of death from the management of the NLS, proved abortive with none of the contacts for the school accessible.
Amadi’s death comes barely four months after losing her dad in April, this year.
Meanwhile, according to @adewalebepo, the school management is doing all it can to reduce the stress that comes with intensive preparations for exams:
