Reports just received says that Leah Sharibu has delivered a second baby while still in Boko Haram captivity.
Leah is the Christian girl that was kidnapped in Northern Nigeria’s Dapchi town, Yobe State alongside over one hundred other school girls three years and five weeks ago.
Precisely, February 19, 2018, all 110 girls between the ages of 11 and 18 were snatched from Government Girls Science and Technical College.
While everyone of her colleagues renounced their Christian faith and was set free, she stood her ground refusing to renounce Christianity.
Leah was subsequently married off to a commander in the terrorist group, according to reports. She was delivered of a baby boy last year.
The report of her second baby was given by a US-based group, US-Nigeria Law Group. The group laments her plight, describing her as a” heroine Christian.”
Convener of the US-Nigeria Law Group, Emmanuel Ogebe, in a statement said that “despite an offer by an American Pastor last month to surrender himself in exchange for Leah’s freedom, there has been no tangible response from her captors.
“That notwithstanding, intelligence received on the status of Leah indicates that she has delivered a second child in captivity.
“While we have not corroborated this by multiple sources, a usually knowledgeable source indicated that she delivered a second child late last year. This means both children were born in 2020, as the terrorists announced her childbirth earlier in 2020. We are still investigating this.”
US-Nigeria Law Group also decried the “full-scale onslaught on education in Nigeria by Islamist extremists: Boo Haram wars against education, bandits mass kidnap of children in school and religious violence against mission school owners in Ilorin over hijab controversy.”
