Leah Sharibu’s parents have described as “heartbreaking rumours,” news of her delivery of a second baby in the captivity of terrorist group, Boko Haram.
Nathan and Rebecca Sharibu have demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari return their daughter with or without the children.
The traumatised parents describe as utterly shameful that the present administration of President Buhari has abandoned their daughter.
Leah and 109 of her school mates, all girls, were kidnapped by the Boko Haram terrorist group from the Government Girls’ Science and Technical College (GGSTC). Dapchi, Yobe State on the 19th of February, 2018.
She was only 14 years old at the time of the incident.
While the Christians among the students denounced their faith and were set free, Leah insisted she remained a Christian and so was detained.
A few months back, a US Pastor allegedly offered to replace her in captivity so she could return home but the offer was turned down by the terrorists.
News of Leah’s second baby was made public by the convener of the United States Nigeria Law Group, Emmanuel Ogebe who quoted “a usually knowledgeable source.”

While speaking with Punch, a representative of Leah’s parents and spokesperson of Leah Foundation, Dr Gloria Puldu described how heartbroken the teenage captive’s parents are adding that Nigeria has woefully failed her.
According to her, “The morning of March 23 was another very difficult day as we woke up to the very sad and heartbreaking rumours that Leah Sharibu who is still in captivity for three years has given birth to a second baby.
“We don’t know anything, that is why we said it is rumour. We don’t know where she is and have never heard from her.
“It is a very big shame on Presient Buhari and his entire government. He has abandoned this young child in captivity.
“Leah is a minor, has been abandoned and forgotten by her government. The traumatised parents of Leah, Nathan and Rebecca, are trying and demanding that Buhari bring back their daughter with or without the children.
“Leah still remains their child and they will take her back, no matter the situation or the condition she comes out with.
“Leah remains a heroine in the eyes of every Christian all over the world for her bold and courageous stand to refuse to renounce her Christian faith despite extreme danger.”
