Residents and commuters plying the Lekki-Epe Expressway have cried out over their harrowing at the Sangotedo axis of the road.
The most difficult part is the 30-second stretch between Terra Garden Estate Gate and Novare Shopping Mall where ShopRite is located.
Nearly a month ago, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu gave out the road reconstruction to effect repairs on the non-motorable portions of the road.
The construction company immediately mobilized its equipment to site but made little or no arrangement for traffic management. Commuters say that both lanes have been taken over and shut down leaving a near footpath-sized lane for cars, lorries and trailers.
Commercial buses have halted services on the road as they spend no less than 3 hours on the hitherto 30-second journey. Car owners have parked their vehicles and opted to trekking 10s of kilometers to and fro their destinations.
School children spend no less than 8 hours daily on the short stretch.
