The former Governor of Rivers State and incumbent Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has told journalists that out of the 31 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, 27 are against the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Nyesom Wike said, “In all circumstances be grateful. No good politician would support that kind of thing but we keep quiet. I told everybody to keep quiet. Let me tell you, you have 31 members in the House of Assembly, 27 are against you.”
Nyesom Ezenwo Wike accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of orchestrating the burning of parts of the Rivers State House of Assembly by sending his supporters. This, Wike alleges, is in response to an impeachment plot against Fubara.
Months ago, a misunderstanding arose between former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and current Governor Siminalayi Fubara. President of Nigeria Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu intervened when the Rivers State House of Assembly attempted to impeach Governor Fubara.
