Bolu Okupe, son of former senior presidential aide under Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that “yes I’m gay.”

Apparently, he had been hiding his status but now says he “came out of the closet” for his own benefit saying he is indeed proud of it.

Bolu made his sexual preference public in a post on his Instagram page yesterday raising a rainbow flag above his shoulders.

The rainbow colour was created as a symbol of pride and unity for the LGBTQ in the United Sates as far back as 1978 by Gilbert Baker.

Baker was inspired by by Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay elected officials in the U.S.

To further drive home his pride for his gay status, Bolu also wore gay shorts and displayed gay symbols on his post.

He graduated from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom in 2015.
