Governor Bello Matawalle regarding the death of a former Minister of Agriculture, Malami Buwai . He described the death as a sad development.
Reports say that Malami’s death on Monday was as a result of a protracted illness.
Governor Matawalle, in a condolence message which was delivered yesterday in the state capital, described the death of Malami as a monumental loss to the state.
The press secretary to the governor, Malam Jamilu Birnin-Magaji delivered the message on his behalf and described the deceased as one of the personalities who spearheaded the creation of Zamfara.
According to the Governor, “I received with shock, the death of a seasoned farmer, scholar, administrator and an astute elder statesman, Alhaji Malami Buwai.”
Matwalle praised the Late Malami as an honest, God-fearing philanthropist per excellence, who contributed immensely to the development of Zamfara especially in assisting the needy.
He prayed Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late minister and grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Late Malami Buwai was Minister of Agriculture under the regime of Former Head of State, General Sani Abacha.
