A mammoth crowd of supporters, on Saturday, stormed the presidential campaign rally stops of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
His first stop was the Alaba International Market, his first stop as he rounds off his presidential campaign.
The former governor of Anambra State had earlier taken to his Twitter page to reflect on his campaign, ahead of the highly anticipated February 25 presidential general election
Peter Obi shared his thoughts on the seemingly overwhelming support he has received from many Nigerians, stating that the mission is to take back Nigeria.
He wrote: “Today, the LP and Obidient Family will conclude the State rallies in Lagos. It’s been a whirlwind and a very value-added experience across the 36 States,” he said.
“Thank you Nigerians for engaging constructively. The Mission to take back Nigeria is real and the core objective is in sight. Let’s make it happen. Saving Nigeria is Now or Never.”
At the Alaba market, a massive crowd turned up to welcome Peter Obi, with everyone struggling to catch a glimpse of him.
Obi was in the company of the Labour Party Governorship candidate, in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and other chieftains of the party.
While addressing his supporters, Peter Obi said the market was built by hard-working people and since then, nothing has been done by the government to improve the infrastructure.
He promised to come back as President to address all the issues confronting the area.
In his words: “Alaba was build by hard working people since then government has not done anything in Alaba, they don’t care about you. This is the first time government is going to care about you. Nobody cares about what is happening.
“I have come here for campaign, I came here when I was running for governor. I came back when I became governor. I am here today in Alaba. I will come back as President”
