A man has been banished from his community for 20 years over what his kinsmen described as witchcraft.
Obioma Ubani is an indigene of Obioha Amuda Isuochii in Ummuneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
He is accused of killing one Prof Chike Ubani and led to the border of his community by an angry group of Obioha Development Union members.
Dressed in rafia palms popularly called ‘omu,’ and carrying a nylon bag, Obioma was escorted by the union members who chanted angry songs after him.
The leader of the group however, called on them not to hurt the accused but simply to take him out of the town.
The union leader said that, “This is the man that was accused of killing Pro Chike Ubani of Umuahia, Umuneze. He and his wife have been banished for 20 years from this community.”
