Man Begs Google to Take Back $249999 Mistakenly Paid to Him

A man has reached out to Google seeking to return the sum of $249999 mistakenly paid him without commensurate work for the earning.

Identified as Sam Curry, whose bio describes him as a hacker, bug bounty hunter, and Staff Security Engineer, he described the payment as baffling on his verified Twitter handle, @samwyco.

He explained that it’s been 3 weeks since he received the payment and Google has not made any move to rectify the situation.

Sam Curry tweeted on September 14: @samwcyo: “It’s been a little over 3 weeks since Google randomly sent me $249,999 and I still haven’t heard anything on the support ticket. Is there any way we could get in touch @ Google ?

(it’s OK if you don’t want it back…)”

Google, in an email to CNN has also announced that all efforts are being made to get the money back and appreciated Curry for informing them about the error.

Our team recently made a payment to the wrong party as the result of human error.

“We appreciate that it was quickly communicated to us by the impacted partner, and we are working to correct it.”
