A man, identified as Shuaibu Yusuf from Borno State on Monday, climbed a transmission tower in Abuja and threatened to jump down, except his demands were met.

The man had a hand-written note addressed to President Bola Tinubu, which contained his demands.

The man demanded the reversal of the fuel subsidy removal policy, the reopening of the borders for food importation, declaration of a state of emergency on insecurity in Nigeria, and others.

While calling on other Nigerians to join him in protest, he expressed readiness to sacrifice his life in order to get a solution to the problems.

After numerous pleas from emergency responders, the man eventually descended from the mast and was subsequently apprehended by the police.
