An 18-month old baby raped by middle aged peasant farmer in Yobe State has resulted in injuries to the child. The Police has however arrested the man who is helping with investigations.
The police Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim told newsmen that the middle aged man, Ado Alhaji Kanwa from Kazaure in Jigawa State has been arrested for molesting and raping the little child.
Abdulkarim said that “During the week under review, Yobe State Police Command through that Karasuwa Divisional Police Headquarters succeeded in arresting one Ado Alhaji Kanwa from Kazaure, Jigawa State but presently residing in Karasuwa LGA of Yobe State for peasant farming.
“The suspect was arrested after having molested and raped an 18-month old baby girl identified as Adama Mohammed in Karasuwa Local Government Area.
Speaking about the 18-month old baby raped, the police P R O said that “the victim sustained various degrees of virginal injuries as a result. Investigations has since begun for subsequent prosecution of the suspect”
Speaking on behalf of the police commissioner, Dungus Abdulkarim said that the state police command assures members of the public of the safety of their lives and property.
He assured them of the force’s readiness to deal with crimes and criminalities in the state. He reminded them to to always report suspected criminal activities in the state.
