A Father rejects son over covid19 fears and gets government recognition.
The viral video of the man who identified himself as Mr Femi Adeoye and his son trended throughout the day yesterday, 28th April.
According to him, he is a retired official of the Federal road safety corps. He was filmed insisting that he will not take back his son who traveled to Lagos from Ekiti against his advise.
Mr Adeoye said that the health workers must take the young man into isolation for 14 days as he fears he may have been infected with covid19. He subsequently denied young man entrance into his family house
The father stressed in the video that he was not satisfied with the test carried out by health workers until the boy goes into isolation and is returned negative.
Mr Adeoye told the health workers that he is trying to abide by the guidelines of the government and the health agency. He cited the clause that stipulates that anybody who visits any state with #COVID19 prevalence must be quarantined for 14 days.
He also insisted that his son returns to wherever his was coming from to get quarantined as he would not want him to become a viral distributor of the disease in Ekiti State.
When the government officials tried to convince him to take the son back and urged the son to follow his father, Mr Adeoye rejects their entrities, rushed into his car and drove off.
Mr Adeoye’s action drew the admiration of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi who invited him to the state house this afternoon, April 30. The governor sees his action action as commendable in helping the state stem the spread of the dreaded disease. For the governor, Adeoye’s action was that of a true Nigerian father and disciplinarian.
After a light-hearted exchange of pleasantries, Governor Kayode Fayemi offered Mr Adeoye the job of Covid-19 Response Ambassador in Ekiti State.
