A yet-to-be-identifed man has been rescued by motorcycle riders from committing suicide on the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge.
In a viral video, the man was seen being pulled out from the edge of the bridge by 2 motorcycle riders who were right on time to prevent him from taking the fatal jump.
In spite of the help and the strength of the 2 rescuers, the suicidal man struggled to break free.
Sadly, onlookers were busy making videos of the scene instead of helping the ‘Good Samaritans.’ The latter admonished those making videos, calling on them to quit videoing and give them a helping hand.
Luckily, the man was successfully pulled out but it is not certain why he took the dangerous decision.
Onlookers however, blamed it on the harsh economic situation in the country.
The Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, is a 1.36 km (0.84 mile) cable-stayed bridge in Lagos State.
It links the Phase 1 area of Lekki, with Ikoyi district of Lagos.
The bridge was commissioned on the 29th of May 2013 by the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola.
