A grievous paternity feud has caused a man to stab his wife to death in the Lekki area of Lagos.
While some accounts identify the man as Femi, others say his name is Chris Ndukwe. However, the couple is said to have moved into the Victory Park Estate in the Lekki area of Lagos 3 weeks prior to the fatal feud.
Neighbours say very little is known about them except that they were both seen jogging together on Saturday evening. a day before the the murder and suicide.
The neighbours say they have 2 little children, one about 7 years old while the younger is about 3. They also report that on Sunday, a deafening music was blaring from their duplex for hours and since no one could really claim to be a friend of the couple, they reported to the estate managers. The managers undertook to visit the couple to call them to order.
On arrival, they met the wife’s younger sister playing with the kids down stairs. She then went upstairs to advise her sister to reduce the music and perhaps come downstairs to speak with the neighbours and the estate managers.
Having knocked endlessly with no response she asked the visitors to assist her pull down the door only to be confronted with the gory sight of her older sister’s butchered body. An array of knives lay on the scene, some badly stained with blood. The wife had been tied to a chair, had several deep knife cuts on her eyes, head and body. A clipper at the scene was apparently used to shave her hair.
Her husband also lay lifeless foaming from the mouth with plastic bottle of rat poison beside him. He had apparently stabbed his wife and killed himself.
Other accounts say the couple were processing their visa to relocate to Canada. They had done DNA tests for their 2 children but the result showed that the younger child had a different DNA from the man.
The sister told the visitors that the couple never really fought so she could not ascertain the actual reason for the unfortunate incident. However, she knew they had an argument over who really was the father of the younger child. She is also in shock that the man had to stab his wife.
Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, says investigations are ongoing to ascertain the true reason for the gruesome deaths.
The two corpses have been taken to the hospital for autopsy.
