A yet to be ascertained number of people are feared dead after a trailer fell off the Ojuelegba Bridge in Lagos and landed on a car below the bridge.
The incident was reported by eyewitnesses from the scene on Saturday night, 2nd of April.
It was also at a time when heavy traffic is normally recorded on that axis as many workers and Yaba and Tejuoso market traders close for the day and typically pass through or under the bridge.
As always, a helpless crowd gathered at the scene as they wait for heavy equipment and government responders to arrive.
The trailer was eventually removed with a crane as seen by video footages shared on social media.
The accident caused the deaths of the occupants of the car and some other pedestrians.

Snypa®Tee@094snypar· Last time this shitty incident happened at Ojuelegba, I was so lucky that the jeep didn’t drop on my head. it has turn to traditional dilemma that trailers, cars etc falls off the bridge due to the curvy shape of d bridge or other reasons. Lord have mercy on us in this country.
Maryam Khidir@maryamkhidirWhy is it so hard to erect a barrier on top of this bridge to prevent trucks from going up? On the first day of Ramadan that people are going home to break their fasts. This is ridiculous and sad
OnosSpeaks@OnosSpeaks· Replying to @OfficialEjike@jidesanwoolu stop Trucks from plying Ojuelegba bridge. How many people have to die before you take action?
Ade Omo Ade@Adexzini·Replying to @OfficialEjikeI can’t put into words how upset and angry I am right now. Again, could have been anyone, Nigeria just happened to the victims right there. My prayers are with all affected, may Nigeria never happen to anyone again Amen.
