Many Injured as Police Fire Teargas at Sympathizers During Candlelight Event for Mohbad (video)

While an event was ongoing at the Lekki axis of Lagos State where thousands of sympathizers converged to hold a candlelight concert for late Mohbad on Thursday, police officers fired teargas at them.

A procession preceded the event organised to honor Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, who tragically passed away about 10 days ago.

The event was graced by several fans, friends, and fellow musicians including Davido.

Police were sighted at the venue with many of the mobelieving they came to give them protection.

However, pandemonium ensued as the police attempted to disperse the crowd by force.

Some said they were shot at leaving them with injuries.

Mohbad’s death last week Tuesday, September 12 raised concerns with many calling out Marlian Record Label’s owner Afeez Fashola professionally known as Naira Marley.

Also, there have been allegations and counter-allegations from his distant relatives over Mohbad’s estate soon after he d!ed.

Both the Nigeria police and Lagos police command vowed to probe his death, as the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also asked that the Department of State Service (DSS) to join in the investigation.
