Mrs Maryam Abacha, wife of Nigeria’s former military Head of State General Sani Abacha has lamented the persecution visited her family and late husband.
According to her, they would not have been stigmatised and hunted they way they currently are if he was alive.
Maryam Abacha bared her mind during an interview with Kano Focus. She added that that her husband helped many people but some of those have turned their backs on the family.
In her words, “How come this man was not a thief until he died “”
“What is the amount of money after 22 years you say ‘we found this amount of money and we’re bringing it back ?’
“It is a shame to tell lies on a dead man ! It is a shame to tell lies on your leader.
“If he had done wrong, God knows. If other people are putting the wrong on him, it is a matter of time.
“They will kneel down like America is kneeling down now. Anybody that is evil will kneel down just like corona has come to shut this world.”
Maryam Abacha regretted that her husband “worked in Kano and he planted Kano people, but some of the people he helped are not even greeting me now for no reason. They just hate us. But why ? It is haram and Allah is watching us.”
General Sani Abacha ruled Nigeria from 1993 to June 8 1998 when he died at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
Since his death over $3.6 billion loot have been recovered from several bank accounts across the world.
