The Maryland – Ojota service lanes will be closed for 6 weeks according to the Lagos State Government.

The closure is with effect from today, 17th November, 2020 and will impact the service lane from the Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota to Maryland.

The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, yesterday, 16th November.

He said that the service lanes will be closed to allow the contractor carrying out repairs on the project to move on to the next phase.

The phase also includes the reconstruction of the Ikorodu road.

Gboyega Akosile, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Lagos State, corroborated the news this morning.

The Commissioner for Transportation advised motorists coming from the Ikeja axis to pass through the 7-Up road through Billings Way to link Oregun/Kudirat Abiola Way. This will link them inbound Ikorodu Road, by Ojota.

He added that traffic inward Ojota Bus Stop / Maryland from Ibada – Lagos road should go to Oworonsoki / Gbagada or descend the bridge by Abiola Gardens to connect Ikorodu Road.

The Commissioner announced that motorists could also ascend the loop back to Lagos – Ibadan Expressway through loop beside LAMATA office to access Ikorodu road to Ojota.

Oladeinde added that road signs have been mounted at the relevant locations. Motorists are advised to carefully view the signs.
