Masquerades on Sunday morning invaded a Church in the Shikal community, Langtang South local government area of Plateau State.
Their sudden appearance disrupted the worship service as they flogged the bewildered pastor and worshippers, destroying Church property.
Reports say that the masquerades arrived the premises while service was in full swing and started flogging worshippers who fled in different directions for safety.
The invaders later turned to the Church’s musical instruments and other properties and destroyed many.
The Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo confirmed the incident but gave no details.
Alabi said that, “The DPO of the area has confirmed that it is true, they are working on the situation and the area is calm. He said masquerades went to a Church and disrupted their activities. The investigation is ongoing, we will give full details when we have them.”
