A mass burial was held on Monday for the victims of the recent building collapse in Kano.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of 3 persons, including two children and a young adult.

The victims were laid to rest at the Hamadiyya Cemetery, surrounded by a large crowd of mourners who came to pay their respects. The emotional ceremony was coordinated by Pastor Michael Eyien.

Among the victims were two children of a tenant in the building and their cousin, who was living with them. The parents of the victims are currently receiving medical treatment and are the only survivors of the incident.

Sadly, the body of the family’s first daughter, Dmilila, is still missing four days after the collapse. Rescue operations are ongoing in an effort to locate her.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) had earlier confirmed the deaths of two children and injuries to two others in the building collapse. The agency’s coordinator in Kano, Dr. Nuraddeen Abdullahi, expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.

The incident has left a trail of grief and devastation in its wake, and the community has come together to support the affected families.
