Massive crowds of supporters of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, staged their 1-million-man match today, September 3, 2022 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Mostly youths, the supporters defied the rain and marched in their numbers around the city of Ibadan beginning from the early hours of Saturday.
The march is part of the support for the Obi/Datti 2023 presidential ticket.
A similar march is understood to be going on in Ogun State, and had previously held in States like Auchi (Edo State), Makurdi (Benue State) Afikpo (Ebonyi State), Onistha (Anambra State) and Port Harcourt (Rivers).
Another one is planned for Abuja in a few days.
Most of the youths interviewed reiterate the fact that they are tired of the state of the nation. They cited decayed education system, poverty, inflation, unemployment, insecurity while the rich and their children have created safe havens overseas.
