A massive explosion has occurred around the popular Redeemed Christian Church of God camp on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Earlier reports suggested that the explosion occurred inside the camp, but residents in the area say it was outside.
Government authorities are also said to have arrived the scene and and taken control of the situation to to curtail collateral damage to lives and properties in the area.
Residents of the Redemption camp especially residential estates, schools and businesses within and around the camp ground are reportedly in panic.
Many residents and eyewitnesses say the explosion was not a terror attack but an explosion from a gas-filling plant behind the Redemption City.
The feedbacks:
Hon. Otaigbe Imadegbelo: “This is fake news. For your info, the fire occurred outside the camp fence. There is a gas filling station sharing fence with camp behind Redeemer’s Health Centre. NOTE: The fire did not affect ANY RCCG Facilities.”
@Olalekanakogun “Relax, it’s not a terror attack, it wasn’t a bomb blast, “Nigeria never scatter”, “The Church is not under siege”. …It was only an unfortunate gas explosion @ RCCG Camp premises, let’s be calming down o!”
