Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a sit-down interview over the weekend with talk show host, Oprah Winfrey.
The revealing interview comes after the couple agreed to step down and leave the British royal family roles to relocate to the United Stats of America.
The interview was broadcast on Sunday, at 1:00am U K time and primetime, U S hours on CBS.
Meghan revealed how life within the royal family was lonely, isolating and lacking in support. The situation was so intense that she suffered suicidal thoughts.
It was equally depressing to have individuals within the family express their thoughts about the colour of their son, Archie’s skin.
That conversation left Oprah lost for words and Meghan almost close to tears.
The biracial former American actress said she made the mistake of believing the royal family when they said they would shield her.
She was also reassured that she could resume her acting career as there were no funds left to place her on the royal payroll.
Meghan added that when she approached the personnel department at the height of her despair, she was told that, “My heart is going out to you, but there’s nothing we can do because you’re not a paid member of the institution.”
She and her husband revealed that they are having a baby girl in the summer.
They stepped back from their royal duties in January 2020 and moved to Canada, believing they could play their royal roles in a Commonwealth country.
Harry said they could not function effectively as the royal family cut off their security citing a “status change.” This was even as the first covid19 lockdown began.

Piers Morgan, an international TV host does not even attempt to hide his resentment for Meghan, talk less of Prince Harry.
Nigeria’s Dr Shola Shogbamimu is personally aggrieved and takes Morgan and the royal family to the cleaners.
