Motivational speaker, talk-show host and Co-Founder, Future Awards Africa and Red Media, Chude Jideonwo a has called on Nigerians and Nigerian youths in particular to take mental health issues seriously.

He said it is about time the movement came on as everyone is vulnerable. Chude drew his highlight from a notion he always had since he personally dealt with a bout of depression himself many years ago.

He was further convinced about the need to address mental health after speaking with former BBNaija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Kayvee

Kayvee recused himself from the House after he suffered severe anxiety attacks and realised he needed to step out and seek medical attention.

He added that the stage set for him by the BBNaija show may have been massive and very promising, but he also had to deal with the immense mental health challenge brought on by the new environment (BBNaija house).

During the show with #WithChude chudeity Kayvee disclosed that:

“I left the house because I was suffering from an anxiety attack. I was breaking down mentally.

“I was just confused about what was happening, I was doubting myself a whole lot. Is this really me being in the stage? Because it was a big thing for me, being in the Big Brother stage was a big thing for me. It was like a major thing I had accomplished.  

“So, by that, I had to deal with myself and had it been that I had someone in the house which I could talk to or that has for instance we were in the house and having a conversation, he/she could have helped me. I was confused, I (didn’t) want to break down on national TV. 

“But there was nobody.”
