Methodist Church Prelate Narrates Ordeal in Kidnappers’ Den (video)

The kidnapped Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Kanu-Uche, has narrated his ordeal in captivity.

The cleric was on Sunday, kidnapped by unknown gunmen along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

Equally abducted by the gunmen were the Bishop of Owerri, Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark, and the Prelate’s chaplain.

All 3 captives were however, set free on Monday, hours after the gunmen demanded the sum of N100 million as ransom.

Speaking in Igbo language hours after his release, Kanu-Uche expressed gratitude to Governors Okezie Ikpeazu and Hope Uzodinma of Abia and Imo states for coming to his aid.

The prelate spoke while addressing some members of his congregation at the Methodist Cathedral, Ihube in Imo State on Monday.

Kanu-Uche also commended Nigerians all over the country and the Christian community for praying for their release.
