Michael Okpara University Students Stage Protest over Hardship, Increase in School Fees

News - Women's Perspective

The students of the Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture have staged a protest over the recent hike in school fees.

The students on Tuesday protested the alleged hike in their tuition and the denial of access to examination halls by the school authority.

The students called for immediate reversal of all increments.

The protest, which disrupted academic activities, commenced when the school authorities directed that students who have not paid the new fees be denied access to the exam halls to write their papers.

In a video circulating online, the aggrieved students were seen blocking the convoy of their vice chancellor and damaging school property.
